MICHIGAN FINANCE SCHOLARS
The Michigan Finance Scholars (MFS) Program is an elite organization that prepares undergraduate students for a successful career in finance. Scholars compete in international investment competitions, attend case-study workshops, and travel to industry-related organizations such as The New York Stock Exchange.
Because the program is primarily funded through donors, every year the advancement team builds a new capital campaign. My role was to create an annual update that highlighted the achievements and accomplishments of the students. The College of Business Dean, Development Director, and MFS Magnusson Director used this piece as marketing collateral. Digital copies were emailed to all finance alumni. Printed copies were mailed to top beneficiaries and provide as leave-behind materials when meeting with potential donors.
Outcome
The capital campaign was a success with the MFS newsletter being a primary asset. We raised over $20,000 through crowdfunding, named the MFS directorship for $100,000, and established a $2.4 million investment fund for the students to manage.
